TRANSIT OF VENUS - June 8th 2004

venus transit

The Astronomy Group at Sussex University set-up various telescopes to view the Sun (either directly using filters or by projection). These transit images shown here (taken at about 10:30 local time (BST)) were projected using a refractor telescope. The Suns image was about 100mm diameter while venus was about 3mm. They were taken with a digital camera simply by photographing the projected image directly.
